February 24, 2014

In celebration of tomorrows release of The Secret Diamond Sisters, I interviewed the author behind the glamorous Vegas story, Michelle Madow! I asked her about her favorite things about Sin City -- which is coincidentally one of our favorite cities. See what she has to say! (I included pretty pictures).

Savannah. Courtney. Peyton.

The three sisters grew up not knowing their father and not quite catching a break. But it looks like their luck is about to change when they find out the secret identity of their long-lost dad—a billionaire Las Vegas hotel owner who wants them to come live in a gorgeous penthouse hotel suite. Suddenly the Strip's most exclusive clubs are all-access, and with an unlimited credit card each, it should be easier than ever to fit right in. But in a town full of secrets and illusion, fitting in is nothing compared to finding out the truth about their past.

Hi, Michelle! Which of the Diamond sisters are you likely to have a rivalry with and why?

That’s such a hard question, because I love them all, and there are parts of me in all of them. But if I have to choose, then probably Peyton, because she sometimes speaks whatever’s on her mind without thinking, and it gets her in trouble with people!

What is your favorite part about Las Vegas?

I love how the city bursts with magic and excitement. Vegas does everything as big as possible, so being there is like entering a fantasyland. My favorite part is definitely all the different hotels. Each one is a different theme, and they all have such distinct personalities. A few of my favorite hotels are mentioned in The Secret Diamond Sisters (Paris, the Venetian, and many implications to the Wynn), so hopefully readers are transported into these magical hotels while they’re reading the book!

So, you've visited Vegas often -- Which hotel is your favorite to stay at? Which hotel are you dreaming/dying to stay at?

My favorite Vegas hotel that I’ve stayed at is Caesar’s Palace — it’s themed like Ancient Rome, which is one of my favorite periods in history. I was also lucky enough to stay in the famous “Rainman Suite” while there which was incredible.

My dream hotel to stay at is the Wynn, since it’s the hotel that inspired the Diamond. I think it’s the most luxurious hotel there, and everything inside is positively enchanting. I’ve walked through the Wynn many times, dined at many of the restaurants there, and had drinks at many of the bars, but I’ve yet to actually stay there! There are some images of it on my Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/michellemadow/the-diamond-hotel-and-residences/

Thanks for stopping by, Michelle! I, for one, cannot wait to see what the Diamond sisters are up to in The Secret Diamond Sisters. While I can agree with Michelle's picks, my favorite hotel to stay at is the Wynn, and the hotel I'm dying to stay in is the Hardwood Suite in the Palms hotel. Unfortunately, it's too expensive for me, but a girl can dream. ;-)

I'm not a fan of basketball, but the room/suite looks really big, sleek and fun!
